Theyyam, also known as Kaliyaattom, is a type of worship in which a person assumes the identity of a deity and dances possessedly to appease the gods. The purpose of the Theyyam performance is to make life prosperous and rid it of all dangers. Theyyam is arguably the most important ritualistic art form in God’s Own Country, Kerala.
Mudumalai National Park is one of the Tiger Reserve in India. The Wildlife Sanctuary is located in the North West region of Coimbatore city in Tamil Nadu state. The protected area is home to several endangered and vulnerable species including Indian elephant, Bengal tiger, gaur and Indian leopard. There are at least 266 species of birds in the sanctuary, including critically endangered Indian white-rumpled vulture and long-billed vulture.
